The upgrading of Kaiping's textile and garment industry is imminent.

Kaiping's textile and garment industry has a long history.

During the Qing Dynasty, the textile industry in Kaiping was relatively prosperous.

In the 80s and 90s of last century, the local textile and textile industry was promoted to a new level through the east wind of reform and opening up.

In 2001, before becoming Kaiping's "China's textile industry base city", there were 263 chemical fiber textile enterprises with annual sales income of more than 5 million yuan, with a total output value of 10 billion 400 million yuan, accounting for 53.95% of the total industrial output value of the province. The Kaiping polyester group was one of the 70 large conglomerates in Guangdong, and the output of chemical fiber ranks first in the country.

In 2002, Kaiping was awarded the title of "China's textile industry base city". In 2003, the three port Street Office of the city was awarded the title of "national denim clothing town".

It is the leader of the Guangdong chemical fiber industry. The annual output of non-woven fabrics exceeds 10 thousand tons, becoming one of the three major non-woven production bases in China.

Denim

Exports accounted for 1/3 of Guangdong Province, and became one of the five professional jeans production bases and important jeans production and export base.

The integrity of upstream and downstream industrial chains is a major feature and advantage of Kaiping's textile industry.

The non-woven fabric is dominated by husta company. Textile and garment are featured by jeans. Ping Da cotton spinning, Ping Feng, Ben Da, Fu Lin and Zhong Yuan textile are all famous textile enterprises, with large scale, advanced technology and equipment, and products have certain advantages.

At the same time, through the construction of various textile industrial concentration zones, Kaiping attracts investment to elongate the industrial chain and form industrial clusters.

At the beginning of this century, Kaiping successfully introduced the Allied Signal Inc joint venture.

Cotton mill

The knitting factory has split the lease to the Hongkong company and established the textile industrial zone. At the same time, the construction of the textile and garment industrial city, the new American textile industrial area and the Cang Cheng textile industry concentrated area have formed a complete industrial chain of raw material production, spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing.

More importantly, the city actively guided the three port subdistrict office to win the title of "national denim clothing town" in 2003. In recent years, the Changsha subdistrict office and Shuikou Town have become the gathering place of textile and garment enterprises.
