The sector showed positive signs in the fourth quarter of this year.

Le Trung Hai, deputy general manager of Vinatex, said the textile and garment sector did not need to make efforts to achieve the export target of $170-175 billion in 2012 and $20 billion in 2013.

Le Trung Hai said that in the second quarter of this year, the clothing sector had already had real difficulties, but the situation in the third quarter and fourth quarter has changed, which should be appreciated for the higher growth of the market.

In particular, on 4-6 November, Vietnam held the 2012 annual conference of the global textile manufacturers association, which provided a good opportunity for local commercial units to update their market information and expand their links with the world's leading manufacturers.

Economic experts say that trade partners who run through Asia's peace talks will change the global textile trade.

The United States is considered to be the world's largest consumer of textiles, with an annual order of about 100 billion dollars, while the global textile consumption is 500 billion dollars.

This will open up a huge opportunity for Vietnam's clothing sector because Vietnam is the ninth member of the pan trade partnership agreement.

In recent years, the growth rate of textile exports reaching 25-30% has created a new ladder for Vietnam's clothing and textile sectors.

The surplus value also increased, accounting for 40% of the total export volume of textiles and clothing industry.

In the first 9 months of 2012, clothing exports amounted to US $12 billion 600 million, an increase of 7.4% over the same period last year.

Despite the global recession, orders from Japan and South Korea are still high, thanks to the stimulation of bilateral and multilateral trade agreements between Vietnam and ASEAN, Japan and South Korea.
