The Quality Of Natural Fibers Is Dropping.

After 30 years of rapid development and reform and opening up, China's textile industry is accelerating its growth from quantity to quality.

Transformation

However, when we look back on the development process, we find that raw materials, especially natural fibers, which are vital to the development of the textile industry, have not yet been effectively solved in addition to the shortage of quantity.

Mulberry silk, cashmere and ramie are all high grade textile with total output of more than 70% of the world's total and a stable monopoly in China.

However, in recent years, the quality of these high-grade raw materials has been shocking.

In the past 10 years, the cocoon layer rate of cocoons in China (that is, the ratio of 100 kg fresh cocoon to factory silk) dropped from 38% to 25%.

With the unremitting efforts of agricultural science and technology personnel in China, the silkworm chrysalis in fresh cocoons is becoming larger and larger, but the cocoons are becoming thinner.

Behind the increase of the weight of a single cocoon, that is, the rapid increase of cocoon production, it is the rapid increase of the cost of Chinese silk raw materials.

Quality is decreasing rapidly.

A leader who has worked in the silk industry for many years told reporters that now we are going all over the country to find it. We have been unable to find the quality of "Lake silk" that once won the gold medal in the first World Expo.

To restore the quality of silk raw materials to the level of the 50s of last century, it means that many things need to be reversed.

The Erdos Cashmere Group of China's cashmere industry launched its top brand "1436" many years ago, meaning the cashmere product made of high-quality cashmere with an average diameter of 14 microns and a length of 36 millimeters.

However, in recent years, the "1436" brand has been greatly restricted by the quality of raw materials, and can not meet the needs of high-end markets at home and abroad.

Ramie is known as "China grass". In the 80s of last century, the annual output of ramie reached 2 million tons.

However, in recent years, the quality of ramie production has gone from bad to worse.

At present, it is difficult to find ramie fiber with an average number of more than 2500 sticks in the domestic market, and the average number of ramie fibers is only 1200.

However, domestic famous ramie enterprises have set up their own planting bases.

Nevertheless, the average number of ramie varieties planted at the base is only 1800~2400.

In the 80s of last century, when reporters participated in the investigation of land and resources in Hubei Province, the number of single fiber branches of some fine ramie varieties in Enshi, Hubei was as high as 2800 public branches, and the individual varieties had even more than 3000 male branches.

The ramie fiber with high ramie fiber can be comparable to cotton in terms of spinnability.

Now such excellent varieties are hard to find. The quality of ramie fiber varieties has declined, which directly led to a 40% drop in the sales of ramie textiles in the international market over the past 7 years, because the prickle sensation of the products made from ramie fibers below 1500 public branches is very difficult to avoid.

Cotton is one of the main raw materials of the textile industry. Because of the uncertain supply of the market, the price has dropped sharply, making the textile enterprises miserable.

In addition to the price, the quality of domestic cotton has been plaguing cotton companies, resulting in a decline in textile quality.

Despite the continuous efforts made in recent years to improve the quality of domestic cotton and give full play to its unique advantages, it is undeniable that China's high-grade textile manufacturers still rely more on imported cotton.

Some people attribute the decline of the quality of domestic natural fibers to the inevitable process of the pition from the era of planned economy to the era of excess market economy, which is the phenomenon that the bad money drives out good money in the circulation field. Some people have attributed it to the extraordinary development of China's textile industry. After all, in a short span of more than 10 years, the fiber processing capacity of China's textile industry has increased from several million tonnes a year to more than 40 million tons per year. Some people have attributed it to the segmentation of textile raw material supply chain, the monopoly of cotton circulation, and the agricultural policy orientation of neglecting quality and so on. All the reasons are supported by facts.

But one thing is for sure, the quality problem of the adulteration of textile materials, which is reflected in the supply of textile materials, is no less than the seriousness of China's food safety problem.
