Silk

Once prosperous and declining.

The Silk Road

"It is expected to reappear the glory of the past -- but no longer a tottering camel and a deserted Gobi desert, but a dense modern aviation, railway, highway network and a new international metropolis.

After more than two thousand years of development of Silk Road, China's birthplace has unveiled a grand blueprint aimed at promoting the leaping development and long-term stability of Xinjiang. One of the key points is to revitalize this important road connecting the Asian and European continent and the East and west civilization.

Xinjiang

Located in the hinterland of the Eurasian continent, its area is about 1 million 660 thousand square kilometers, accounting for 1/6 of the total land area of China.

The "Silk Road" stretches for 7000 kilometers, and Xinjiang is located in its central area. But after fifteenth Century, along with the development of sea pportation, the silk road has declined, and Xinjiang has lost its prominent position in East West trade.

The information disclosed by the central Xinjiang work forum held in May this year showed that the central authorities called for the construction of a large logistics corridor between Xinjiang and the mainland and neighboring countries, and strive to make Xinjiang an important gateway and base for China's opening to the outside world, and decided to set up an economic development Zone in Kashi and Huoerguosi and implement special economic policies.

In addition, China has launched a new round of huge projects for counterpart assistance to Xinjiang.

Experts believe that these measures will expand Xinjiang's opening up to the outside world from the national strategic level, and help build China's large land corridor connecting Central Asia, Western Asia, South Asia and Europe.
