Lovisa Burfitt: actually, I didn't turn it in.

I started as an illustrator and later in fashion design, but I never stopped creating illustrations. When I moved to Paris, I once again threw myself into fashion design and launched my fashion illustration work.

Maybe sometimes people get some information from the Internet, but you know, the Internet is not always right. (laughs)

Time weekly: what are the pleasure of illustration and costume design?

Lovisa Burfitt: the happiest part is all about creation.

When you draw ideas on paper, that is my happiest moment.

Painting is just faster.

And designing clothing will take longer time in some practical production, such as working with a large team, such as proofing for jackets and pants.

Have you ever seen a movie called Millennium?

This film is a novel adapted from a clever female fighter.

The author died when he wrote the fourth part. It was a best seller. Noomi Rapace, the actor of the play, contacted me and said he wanted to sponsor me.

Time weekly: your illustration style is light and dreamy, but the clothes you design use a lot of black elements, Gothic mystery and Grunge decadence, everything is more dignified. Is your clothes better able to express yourself?

Lovisa Burfitt: you are right. When I create illustrations, I often create for customers.

But when I make my own brand clothes, I only need to be responsible for myself, so I can express my style better.

If I am just free to create my own illustrations, I think it should be more deep and more black elements.

Time weekly: what is the definition of women in your mind?

Is a woman's status helping you or hindering you?

Lovisa Burfitt: the women in my writing are distinct, confident, powerful, full of drama, and believe in heart and intuition. This is my definition of women.

I think women are full of hot blood and have good instincts, and men do not mix emotions into work. If women behave like this, they are usually considered ruthless.

My motto is, follow your heart.

Times weekly: it is said that Claude Kahn (surrealist female photographer) and Freda are your idols. What do they mean to you?

Lovisa Burfitt: they all have a rough life.

About 15 years ago, when I first met Freda, she strongly attracted me.

Freda suffered a very serious accident in her youth, which affected her whole life.

We can imagine that she could not become a mother if she lost her fertility, and she would even suffer from drug therapy for life.

All this is reflected in her works.

She gave me a lot of inspiration. In her age, she was a very fashionable woman.

At that time, the traditional women were all at home, but Freda really advocated freedom. I think this is the reason why people like her so much.

Claude Kahn, I only know her four or five years ago. She and Freda were artists of the same age.

Claude is a Jew of Paris, a famous surreal female photographer who has been in prison for many years.

Her dual status as a woman and lesbian was greatly suppressed by the Surrealist groups dominated by male dominated men, including Breton and others. But she was able to make it public in that era. It was quite brave indeed.

I can read the story behind their works from most artists, which is really interesting.

Time weekly: you are a rock in your bones. Your favorite Freda was a super Rock in those days.

Which picture do you like best, Freda?

Lovisa Burfitt: Yes, that's true. She can see her dress.

My favorite picture is that - she painted herself as an animal, with an arrow on her body, the animal's head is her own, but the body is a deer, and the deer's body is arrows, just like she herself is a wounded animal - I think I like this one best.

But there are too many, for example, a self portrait of her. There are some monkeys around her neck. There are big leaves in the background.

I like the flowers and fruits she painted very much. It is very romantic in Mexico and feels very strong.

Time weekly: when you hear the theme of love and sleepwalking, what is the first picture in your mind?

Lovisa Burfitt: when I first heard about this theme, I immediately felt a very dreamy feeling. It emerged from all the typical scenes in the streets of Paris. At last, I created a lazy cat, a spring bird, a Paris tower and a very quiet life street as the main element.

Based on this collaboration with MO&CO. DE PARIS is a charity cooperation to promote children's art education, so I give these illustrations some meaning: the bird that breaks away from the cage's shackles holds the key, which implies the child's freedom to fly to the artistic dream, and that key is the key to open the door of dream.

As you know, there are many impoverished children in the mainland of China. Their poverty is also reflected in their necessities.
